Maintaining Pet Wellness is our primary focus at Pleasant Hill Animal Clinic.  Regular health exams, diagnostic testing, and protecting the pet population with vaccines are essential components of Pet Wellness.  Veterinarians can identify potential health concerns that are not yet affecting your pet during physical exams.  This allows a treatment plan to be made in advance of the onset of illness.

We offer packages for both Dogs and Cats that include the recommended annual Physical Exam, Fecal, Heartworm Tests, and Vaccines for a discounted bundled price, taking the guesswork out of what your pet needs at their annual visit.  Here is a breakdown of our Annual Visit Packages:

Tests such as heartworm tests and fecal exams alert us to the presence of internal parasites that can have significant effects on pet health.  Heartworm disease is a life threatening disease that is very common in Missouri due to the high number of mosquitoes.  It is very important to keep your dog or cat on heartworm preventative and stay up-to-date on heartworm testing.

Core Vaccines for Dogs: Rabies and the Distemper/Adenovirus-2/Parvovirus/Parainfluenza/Leptospirosis (DHLP) combination vaccine.  These prevent diseases that are common, highly fatal, or contagious to humans and every dog should be current on these vaccines.

Additional Recommended Vaccines:  Missouri Dogs are at risk of contracting lyme disease from ticks and we strongly recommend vaccinating against this disease.  Our grooming and boarding services and most others require that dogs be vaccinated against Bordetella Bronchiseptica as it is highly contagious and commonly occurs in unprotected animals who visit these places.

Core Vaccines for Cats: Rabies and a Rhinotracheitis/Calicivirus/Panleukopenia (FVRCP) combination vaccine.  Rabies is highly fatal and poses a threat to human health.  The combination vaccine protects cats against very common, highly contagious diseases that can significantly impact your cat’s health.

Additional Recommended Vaccines:  Your cat may benefit from additional vaccines such as a Feline Leukemia Vaccine.  Feline Leukemia is a common disease in cats and cats with access to the outdoors are at a particularly high risk for contracting this disease.  Feline Leukemia Virus causes cats to develop Leukemia and/or other conditions such as cancer and immune deficiency.
