Our clinic features the latest technology in our in-house diagnostic machines. Our complete blood count (CBC) machine measures the prevalence of the different cell types in the blood such as Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, Lymphocytes, and Platelets. Blood chemistry surveys the function of core organ systems such as the Liver and Kidneys as well as allowing us to measure key electrolytes. Abnormalities associated with each of these tests can alert us to and aid in the diagnosis of a wide range of diseases and disorders such as diabetes, kidney failure, liver disease, immune-mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA), and thyroid disorders.
We also offer in-house clotting tests with a special instrument that helps us check the blood's clotting ability in cases of exposure to rodent poisons or other toxins.
Taking x-rays is an essential part of diagnosing and treating many diseases. X-rays allow us to visualize structures in both the chest and abdomen in addition to bones and joints. In 2015, we upgraded our X-ray system to take Digital X-rays just like in human hospitals. The upgraded quality and resolution of digital X-rays provide us with even better images to aid in diagnosing your pet's medical condition.
We have the equipment and expertise to perform endoscopy on pets to aid in diagnosis of diseases affecting the digestive tract, airways, and other structures without performing exploratory surgery. Endoscopy can also be used to retrieve foreign objects in some cases to avoid surgery.
